MFYC would like to welcome Hilary Menezes, Conducting Intern, to the artistic team. Hilary joins MFYC for the 2018/19 season, and we are delighted that she will share her enthusiasm, and expertise with our young choristers. Now in her final year as a Vocal Major at Cawthra Secondary school, Ms. Menezes has been a chorister in numerous choirs throughout her school years, and is a member of the prestigious Les Belles Classiques, and the Senior Concert Choir. Outside of school, she is a member of the Peel Senior Honour Choir and the Mississauga Summer Chorale. Hilary has both her RCM Grade Seven Piano and Grade Six Vocal exams, which she passed with exceptionally high marks, and as a result was honoured with the IEP Music Studio’s Outstanding Student Award.
Thank you and Welcome Hilary!
“Working with young students is something I absolutely love! I feel I have the skills, experience, and passion necessary to motivate and encourage youth to reach their full musical potential. My plan is to attend university and to study music and humanities, after which I plan to attend Teachers College with the goal of becoming a music teacher. I am definitely a “people person”, and I look forward to working in a profession that allows me to give back to my community, and to inspire young students as I have been so encouraged by the amazing music teachers I have known.
I look forward to a fantastic season”
